The trip

 

EvexiaTales takes care of you from the very beginning so our excursion starts from your hotel or any point of your choice in Athens.

 

We follow the National Road ATHE and head to Lamia. First we meet the historic Thermopylae, where Spartan king Leonidas and his 300 men fought the great battle against the Persians, in 480 BC. Feel the heroic pulse of history touring the battlefield and take a selfie in front of Leonidas statue.

 

Then we continue to Meteora, in the area of ​​Kalampaka. The Monasteries of Meteora are built in a unique natural landscape, included in the NATURA 2000 network, with huge Paleolithic rocks exceeding 600m in height. Only 6 out of the 30 monasteries, standing there since the 14th century, are operating today declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Few experiences can be compared to hiking on these rocks and visiting the monasteries’ unique relics and imposing murals.

 

Dinner will take place in a traditional tavern in the area of ​​Kalampaka, before heading back. Upon returning to Athens, we take you to your starting point or to any other location you wish to go.
